Colorful sculptural constructions galore during Sarah Braman's Wide Rainbow Workshop with Girls Prep Middle School in the Lower Eastside yesterday after school. Sarah gave an awesome slideshow of her monumental sculptures and installations that inspired the girls to construct their very own colorful artworks with found objects and discarded materials! Sarah brought in pieces of neon plastics, wood she found upstate, mirrored pieces and debris she's collected from her studio for the girls to work with. After her inspiring slideshow of recent gallery exhibitions and artworks indoors and out in nature, she gave us a understanding of balance + helped us build strong foundations, but quickly let the creative juices flow! Check our all the awesome works of arts and sculptures inspired by Sarah!
Contemporary artist Sarah Braman will be joining us TMW at Girls Prep Middle School in the Lower Eastside. Sarah creates large scale sculptures and constructs installations with found materials like wood, left-over car parts, and discarded goods while pairing them with brightly colored glass to breathe new light. Her sculptures are monumental and she's been known to create groovy environments with interesting spatial constructs too. Sara will be bringing in some left over materials from her studio to share with the girls along with a presentation and workshop inspired by her own methods of construction and art making! Looking forward to a super fun workshop TMW with Sarah on Ave A!!!
Returning Wide Rainbow Artist Diamond Stingily hosted a creative writing workshop today after school with the Young Women's Leadership High School of Brooklyn. Our fabulous Maia Ruth Lee went to Chinatown to source materials and picked up fun stickers and personal journals for the girls to keep and continue to write feelings, thoughts, and scribbles as directed by Diamond. During her cathartic workshop in Bushwick the girls talked about POSITIVITY, LOVE and the FUTURE. Thank you Diamond for leading such an intimate and lovely Wide Rainbow Workshop with us!!
Today after school we hosted an onsite Wide Rainbow Workshop with returning artist Elizabeth Jaeger at NADA New York! Elizabeth hosted a fun sculpture workshop with group of families, fellow artists, art fair visitors, and anyone who wanted to join us for about on hour at the NADA stage. We used magic-sculpt and some fun left over materials from past workshops to create unique sculptures and works of art inspired by the pieces that Elizabeth had exhibited at the fair with Jack Hanley Gallery. Take a look at all the fun we had including giving out some cool new Wide Rainbow T-Shirts that LQQK Studio helped us create!!!

Cool contemporary artist Adrianne Rubenstein joined us today for a fun workshop with broccoli as our subject, landscape, and inspiration for the afternoon! Adrianne presented a slideshow of her own paintings and drawings using everyday broccoli as her model and discussed the importance of the vegetable to her art practice and even in art history!! Apparently old master painters also used the humble vegetable as a tool for depicting trees and creating beautiful landscapes. Today, Adrianne let us run wild and go abstract with lots of bright colors and creative drawings + variations on boring old broccoli ;) Check out all the awesome works of art created during Adrianne Rubenstein's Wide Rainbow Workshop with Girls Prep Middle School.
