Contemporary artist Sarah Crowner will introduce canvas, stretchers, and evening some sowing to emulate the abstract + configured paintings she creates with the Lower Eastside Girls Club on today after school. We will be looking forward to an afternoon of painting, stretching and building our own works of art with a few sowing machines and lots of imagination!!!
Silk screen and monotype printing are in order for our upcoming Wide Rainbow Workshop with contemporary artist Sofia Leiby!! She will help us transfer paint, learn about gesture, and utilize the human hand + our own mark making to create works of art!!! We can't wait to explore Sofia's practice and learn how she creates her own abstract painting and learn the process with the Sixth Street Community Center TMW after school!!
Contemporary artist Rosy Keyser will join us at Girls Prep Middle School today after school for a Wide Rainbow Workshop about process, nature, and even some Jimi Hendrix (😎)! She will share some new materials + techniques inspired by her own paintings and practice. Get ready for a very hands-on activity today in Alphabet City and look into some cool exhibtions with her gallery Maccarone too!

We are looking forward to another awesome after school Wide Rainbow Workshop TMW with the multi-dimensional sculptor, painter, and very cool contemporary artist Francesca DiMattio at the Lower Eastside Girls Club. Check out some of her larger than life 'domestic' sculptures and insanely intricate paintings from past exhibitions at her gallery Salon 94 on the Bowery and get inspired!!

Contemporary artist and abstract painter Patricia Treib will be presenting a Matisse inspired workshop today after school with Girls Prep Middle School in Alphabet City. Patricia will expose the girls to her practice, paintings, and some new techniques inspired by the modern master and her own works of art!
Joanne Greenbaum will be introducing a lot of layers and a colored filled afternoon at the Lower Eastside Girls Club today after school. She will share examples of her mix media paintings, layering technique, and create cool color systems with the girls as well as let them take some abstract twists and turns on there own!!

We are honored to have thoughtful and thought provoking artist Taryn Simon lead a walk-through of her current exhibition 'PAPERWORK AND THE WILL OF CAPITAL' at Gagosian Gallery in Chelsea TMW after school. She will speak to some insightful young ladies from the Lower Eastside Girls Club about her archival + research based approach to creating art!
Artist Maria Fragoudaki will be leading a workshop at the Sixth Street Community Center incorporating her interest and practice in creating sculptural reliefs. She builds up canvases using a little bit of paint and everyday, neglected materials to make wonderful works of art. Looking forward to her introducing us to a new body of work and an incredible workshop ahead!
Thrilled to have artist Maia Ruth Lee lead a t-shirt making workshop exploring clipart and decorative borders from decades past with Girls Prep Middle School. Maia will also give the girls a special walkthrough of her current solo exhibition of paintings based on similar 1970s design elements at her gallery Eli Ping Frances Perkins in Chinatown! An art workshop and adventure to come!
